I liked this book but also didn't like it at the same time.

It didn't reach the expectations of sad that I was looking for. The only time I actually cried (btw I cry easier) was when Jasmine was finally leaving. Don't get me started on fricking Daniel. When I met Daniel I was like 'Eric can't possible be blind to all the red flags right'. Boy was I wrong. I disliked the fact that even though Daniel kissed another guy and gave Eric fake signs was so stupid and Eric mourning over him was pretty fine as they were friends but even Cristitan was so bad like it was just red flag after another that I actually feel bad for Eric. I like the part of Haru and Eric which was pretty sweet and atleast Eric wasn't like Julie from You've reached Sam who was emotionally blind and stupid.

I also found it difficult to understand what exactly happened to Daniel and how they reconciled after he kissed another guy and all. But I feel like Eric may have been a teeny tiny bit rude to Nick but I don't blame him after everything he's been through. I also feel like everyone in this book was gay? Like every man Eric met was interested in men which I know is normal but it felt too normal like everyone was interested in men but that didn't bother me much. I would have rated this book a bit lower if  Jasmine and Eric hadn't made me cry or if I wasn't happy for Eric finally finding Haru.

While it does take time to get more interesting the pace is really good. The main character does feel at times frustrating but that makes him all the more relatable and being able to truly understand his position makes the story so much more engaging. The ending rocked me real bad.
