I was told by a follower on instagram that this book is similar to Don't Let the Forest In by CG Drews without the horror and they were right. It also reminds me a lot of the movie Last Christmas. It's a wonderful story about how grief manifests and everyone deals with it differently.

“I wish I knew the ending of our story sooner. Maybe then it wouldn’t hurt so much”

Dustin Thao, who hurt you? This books is so dang good but it’s truly heartbreaking! All the cute stuff that keeps happening to Eric is just actually him exploring grief so it actually makes every happy moment sad! This story is a fantastic exploration of how grief and loneliness go hand in hand and it has a mind blowing twist at the end! Absolutely remarkable!

DID NOT FINISH

Audible.com says this book is "We Are Okay meets Wandavision in this novel about loneliness, complicated friendships, and what it means to let go," so I'm prepared to get my heart broken by Dustin Thao once again.
