Wow. This did make me sob profusely in the last 25 pages.

Eric has lost someone very close to him and while he navigates his grief, he runs into an old friend that brings him a bit of light and joy again. But no one else can see this friend… but him.

This was emotional and a really tough read at times. I did wish for more with the writing and heavier more advanced imagery and setting descriptions to match the heaviness of the topics discussed, but I did really enjoy this read and shoutout to the artist of this cover because COME ON. It’s earth shattering how beyond beautiful it is.

i really liked the 2 (?) prologue chapters, the beginning and i really liked the end. The middle was kinda boring and predictable and Eric is frankly really annoying and stupid and Haru was no character whatsoever soooo
The cover is stunning though, 10/10
The plot twist is sad, but also kind of random?? like ok??? did not see that coming but like in a bad way that there weren’t any hints, so yeah. I really enjoyed the aspects that were not romance related, which is like 3% of the book but oh well.
Also the writing. I am a person of excessive description and long sentences with way too many commas, so Dustins style of very simple, short sentences just did not work with me, but thats my problem. It wasn’t bad.
Do not remember anything else.

It was okay! The ending wasn’t surprising and I wasn’t that totally moved by grief (but I never am). I was definitely more touched by the psychotic spiral

This book was sad and beautiful.The magical realism was amazing and showed how much us, as humans, have the power to blend reality with a fantasy we want to be real.There was some much needed character development in the form of self love and self respect.It is not always an easy journey but we need to be the ones to teach others how to treat us.This is not an easy read and please look at the trigger warnings for this book but if you do read it let it be a lesson for you,as it was for me.
