I feel like the emotional scenes just weren't really it for me? It felt like Eric was more so incredibly mentally ill in addition to dealing with grief. I didn't really like any of the characters in the book and they felt half baked whilst reading, Haru hardly felt like a character at times, Eric was a bit frustrating to read at times even with the knowledge of his grief, and I'd have liked to have seen more of Daniel.

really slow until the twist, which i didn’t expect? i feel like it wasn’t really well explained (before and after) and i wish the author could have gone deeper. made me tear up though!

A heartfelt novel that doesn't reinvent the wheel by any means but has a few moments that bring tears and is very current in the way the story moves.

While it feels like it waffles on a bit in the middle, and doesn't fully drive home all of its deeper meanings, the conclusion is sweet and worth the read.

This was such a beautiful yet heartbreaking story. This book is about dealing with loss. The way I was led through Eric's process of grief was so well-written and felt so real.

The ending was a big surprise for me. The writing was so beautiful, and it felt like this was the perfect time for me to read this. This book is not the typical sad story, but it will definitely break your heart and also heal it. The reason why I don't give this book 4 stars, but 3, is because I would have loved to learn more about the characters in this book. I felt like I got to know them really fast, but I missed the depth a bit.
