I FEEL A LITTLE CONFLICTED ABOUT THIS BOOK I think I had a little bit of a disconnect with the emotion of it. I'm not sure if that's down to the author's writing style, the translation, or just me? It could be all three. Like did I ENJOY this book? Yes! But I feel like I enjoyed it at a remove. I like my romance to be a little more visceral, I think. 

That being said, the romantic lead misdirect was cool and I actually really liked how I slowly got to pick up on clues that what I THOUGHT was going to happen wasn't but then ALSO KIND OF DID? Wild. I'd read more from her

Somehow this didn't hit for me at all. The characters felt very very flat and the romance felt like an afterthought. I also felt too bad for Tianshu to even like the conclusion of this story.

DNFing but I skimmed through, doesn't take a genius to get the gist. Talk about boring. Halfway through and there's basically no romance. Who is the LI supposed to be anyways? Every character was flat and lacked any actual motivations.
