A fun period cosy crime book. This is the first I've read of this series and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's entertaining and kept me hooked throughout all of it. Enjoyed the characters. Will definitely have a look out for the rest of the series.

Another great adventure with Lady Hardcastle and Flo!
However something felt little off...
maybe it was the setting or the racing plot, i didn't feel as attached to this compared to others.
The murderer was surprising for sure
but kept me on my toes!
⭐ overall, a job well done!

Utterly utter (not 100% sure what it means, but they say it alot in this book and it always seems to be a good thing)
It's still a fun, cozy, murder mystery and I still enjoy the lead characters but this one I spotted clues a bit earlier that previous books so just got frustrated that Lady Hardcastle and Flo were missing some obvious points.
Will obvs be keeping on with the series though... because, who doesn't love a delightful 1900s mystery with a ladies maid who can throw knives

This series definitely fits the "cosy mystery" genre, and I couldn't like Flo or Emily any more than I do! Their innocently snarky banter has me laughing out loud sometimes. The mysteries themselves leave a little to be desired though, they are drawn out a bit too long, and some of the clues are way too obvious for Flo & Emily to miss until practically the end of the book. I will keep reading these books though; they promise to be good clean fun for any reader looking for a spunky female duo of amateur sleuths in early 20th century England.
