I feel like I just read one of those cheap paperback photo-illustrated novelizations of a popular film. Bland writing and characters as interesting as paper dolls. The time-travel-through-memories idea is inventive, but this had the feel of a cheap glossy action thriller. Not literature.

My library filed this under Fiction, not science fiction. Good call.

This is a formula thriller, not well written, based on the author's misunderstanding of some theories of the nature of time. It's a weak Dan Brown book.

It does not deserve spoiler protection, so I will tell you the premise. Malevolent bad guy discovers that if you kill someone you can capture their memories/personality and send the result back to an earlier page in the book of time, giving the person another go-round but with today's memories.

Sigh. I think of all the authors who really put in the time, taking the courses, reading the papers, trying to understand theories of time and how memory works, and then thinking as they write whether or not it's horsepuckey. Some of them also learn how to write characters the readers can care about, instead of jumping straight to Catalogue Bad Guy and Decent Bruce Willis Type Has Lost His Daughter Oh It's So Sad!

The thriller approach seems to be "never mind that, let's get some bullets and bombs and Run!"

Many people seem to like it. I'm not among them. Book abandoned, author on Avoid list.

What a trippy ride. I was clenching my teeth and my anxiety ramped up a few times! But overall the book made you think outside of the box and I loved that!

Very fast paced and original story. Hard to grasp some of the time travel. Overall very entertaining.
