I truly truly love this author, and everything she creates. This one ties with her debut, "Quiet Girl in a Noisy World." Both of these I feel like I read at a time when I truly needed them. This one really deals with anxiety and depression as well as feeling like you are a disappointment to everyone and not doing enough. I have definitely been feeling this way for the last couple of months. The artwork in here is so gorgeous and I love the little pops of color in the hopeful bits. I just really loved this and really love the messaging in it.

Interesting book about handling major depression. It stresses in no uncertain terms the importance of positivity and being kind on yourself. If anything it's maybe too positive? I feel like when I get depressed with my life, there are things that are out of my hands and that can only be addressed with self-kindness, but not every failing in life is entirely out of my hands. Some of her advice almost borders on platitudes. Still, it's important to recognize that depression is a bona-fide mental illness, as well. She covers the need for professional help, but if I'm not mistaken, she never even covers the potential of taking medication. I don't think she even mentions it, and I wonder why.
