Okay, the chunk with the

"reverse manafest destiny"

felt a little... tone-deaf / appropriation-y. And the first couple issues had a too-dark color palette, it just looked kinda low-budget. Also, at the end I was just so glad

Grant died, because his narration was what made this volume feel so stuffy and self-important imo, and I did nooot care about him at all

. Also, the first issue was so confusing, there were just no explanations! And the in medias res thing didn't work out well here. Hope it picks upp
