The kids and I listened to this on our road trip and we all loved it. When I first put it on, the kids all fell asleep. A little while later, the 7yo woke up for 30 seconds to tell me he liked it. Ha! I look forward to listening to the rest on future trips. This series is one of my favorites ever, and William Joyce is one of my favorite author/illustrators.

I have to say, for a children's story, this was a beautiful book. The idea that powerful beings from the universe are protecting earth's children from another powerful villain. The brilliance and unique flare to the story telling was amazing and kept me engaged from beginning to end. Highly recommend this series, even if you're a grown up!

Not bad but honestly I was a little board. I felt like their was to much of the slow parts and the few action parts went by so fast I didn't realize they had happened until 2 paragraphs later.

After seeing the movie, the book wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was a well written book but not what I thought it was going to be about.

This book made me smile, it's not the greatest writing or the most exciting story, but it is fun to read and you learn to love each character. I will say that the character development is very strong, and the love you feel for each person is what makes it so fun.

This gave such similar vibes to Terry Pratchett's The Color of Magic, it was wild. Loved it a lot!

A quote I liked:

"To understand pretending... is to conquer all barriers of time and space," (p. 18).
