i hate cliffhangers. LOL. Lucky, the next book is out. 
Can i just say that I'm so glad to find a romantasy book with a black female character? 
Ok now that that is out of the way, let's talk about this book. 

 I started off feeling like it was too simple...but as I kept reading i realized that it was just easy. The worldbuilding, the  character building, the story was all easy. it just flowed so nicely that I didn't even realize I was into it until I looked up and I was 70% in. 
Let me go read the next one.

What is going on? The setting was so weird and I couldn’t figure out the driving plot at this point beyond 2 people who are tethered together. There’s a war but nothing is explained why or even teased. I don’t expect every book to tell me every thing but I should be able to follow better than this mess.
