This book was written well enough and the cast of characters had a sweet friendship that really saved the book. Besides that the mystery and thriller wasn’t very mysterious or thrilling. The main character did some things that were questionable for someone with their trauma background. 

I also think the book could have been more enjoyable as a physical read instead of audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley, Atria, and Jessa Maxwell for this e-ARC. I am not considered a thriller/mystery reader but this book hooked me from the beginning. I requested this book because I want to get into thrillers and I loved the cover so much that I was like "why not" so when I got accepted I read it instantly and couldn't put it down. I really liked all the characters and all the twists and turns were SO GOOD. I'm definitely going to go read her other book The Golden Spoon. This book will be available August 13th 2024!

Meh, it's OK. The plot twist was great, but the love interest part was unnecessarily over miscommunicated and hardly resolved. Frankly I was bored the entire time
