As others have expressed in regards to this book, its title implies a level of intensity which never actually appears in the book itself. I wanted to like I Need You to Read This based off of its premise, but the actual execution was lackluster. The first 50 pages of the book were so boring that I almost DNFed it, which is saying something considering this book comes out to less than 300 pages. Main character Alex is annoying and infuriating at best and completely uninteresting at worst. The mystery itself was pretty intriguing but was undermined by how predictable it was. All in all, this book is essentially mystery-themed drivel with nothing better to contribute thanan overdone cliche about a woman who can never really escape her abuser.
