This was a big heap of fun with a pleasing amount of puns throughout. Amazing bad guy (can't think who he was based on...) and a great main cast of amusing and really engaging characters.

Also a very neat take on the genetically engineered Martian concept which I mainly associate with the brilliant Man Plus by Frederik Pohl.

Hints of a third book in the final act - BRING IT ON.
