Gave it 50+ pages but it didn’t hook me at all. Not the characters, antagonist or world building.

The plot was really slow, then had spurts of quickness.

This book book was just plain bad, like really really bad. Some parts were even so absurd and badly written that they were kind of funny.
If this book was a Wattpad story(it reminds me of the bad written fanfiction...) it should have just stayed on Wattpad.

3.5 ⭐ Quick engaging read

The storyline is good and kept me hooked. However, the characters are a little dull and there's a lot of plot dragging. Also, I understand the concept of fated mates and how they are instantly attracted... but in this case the mates were unaware and fighting it. So for there to be instant love and instant feeling of self sacrifice for the mate, felt a little off. There should have been some added romance and moments between the characters to make it more believable. Hopefully, the next one clears some things up and is better.

Great book

I really loved this book. It has great characters and alot of action. I enjoyed the fact that it has a great plot and multiple things happening at once. I am starting 2nd book now.

Sadie thinks getting away from her overbearing, Alpha father and the pack by going to college is going to be her key to writing her own path, even if she is forced to bring Brock, who is essentially babysitter sent by her father. But starting with the first day, things prove to not be so easy for her. An odd, unexpected, and unwelcome draw towards a human in her class puts her on edge. Then, as she meets more supernaturals on campus, other things start happening that put everyone on alert.

I love the blending of the supernaturals, wolf shifters, vampires, witches, etc. It always adds an interesting layer to the story to see how these different types interact and help or hinder each other. The relationship with Sadie and Donovan is complicated and definitely starts out on shaky footing, neither of them wanting to acknowledge the emotions that the other seems to bring up when their around each other. But as things progress, they realize they can’t deny what’s happening between them, something is pulling them together. The friendships that Sadie makes, the circle she builds around herself with them, starts to take on a found family vibe, and there are some fun banter and bonding moments between them as they try to figure out the vampire mystery on campus.

But Sadie’s father won’t stay on the sidelines long, and when Brock starts to really feel edged out, things start going from bad to worse. The book ends on a cliffhanger, with a good foundation for the series set up, and potential for a very interesting and great story yet to be told.

Short, entertaining, easy read.

Has all of the feel goods that make you want to read a quick story. Found family, enemies to lovers, secrets stacked on secrets. Looking forward to finishing the series.
