If you have not read The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead, you might like this book. It is pretty much the end chapters of the above novel in graphic art form. The illustration I thought were well done. However, in the edition I read right around half of the book were excerpts from other novels from this author's current and future books. I was pissed off. I hate when I think I have ten pages left and there is one page and a excerpt; half of the book being an excerpt is basically unforgivable. My annoyance on the subject is making me think about changing the rating from two stars to one.
I enjoyed Max Brooks' World War Z (audiobook version) and decided to try this zombie graphic novel he created with Ibraim Roberson. Much like World War Z's documentary-style format, I liked the choice of presenting zombie attacks in a historical setting.
The black-and-white artwork is elegant and belies the atrocities of the flesh-eating undead. However, this collection of stories is nothing more than that: about a dozen zombie attacks at different points in time. There's not much else here, just zombies munching away without a common narrative thread or big picture plot. While I liked each little story, the parts are definitely better than the whole in these Recorded Attacks.
For zombie fans only.

This reads like a manual, so if you are looking for a novel look elsewhere. You will learn everything you'll need to know to survive the zombie uprising. Expect to feel extreme paranoia in social settings and feel the need to remodel your home and place of employment after finishing this book.
Effectively a short, illustrated version of the 'Recorded Attacks' section of "The Zombie Survival Guide" plus an appendix including selections from "World War Z" and "The Zombie Survival Guide." So, if you've already read those books, there isn't much here.
I really enjoyed this book, but I was also frightened by it. While Brooks' tone is humorous, the precautions he has outlined here make a zombie outbreak seem likely. This may sound ludicrous - but if you read this survival guide, you'll have to agree. The 'documentation' of recorded attacks was enough to make me slightly worried. But maybe I just have too active an imagination. But that's a good thing - because, should there be a plague of zombies, I'll be ready.
This review is for the audiobook version.
This is an... interesting book. It is written in a mockumentary style, in a world where a zombie virus - and even Vudu zombies - exist. Some of the scenarios the author creates are fun and creative, and the book kept my interest from begining to end, but I can't say it was a must-read or anything like that.

I love Zombie-themed books and films/series. I love [b: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War|8908|World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War|Max Brooks|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1528312647l/8908._SX50_.jpg|817]. I thought it was one of the best zombie books I have read. Although I haven't read so many yet.
The survival guide is, as the title says, a guide. It reads more like a non-fiction about how to survive in a world of zombies. It talks about defence, housing, weapons etc. But it also talks about events in the past where zombies were seen. This is the part of the book I enjoyed reading the most.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about zombies or how to survive in a zombie-word.
