Perhaps it's my fault I did not like this book, going into reading it I assumed it was a comedy novel of sorts but found it to be a very serious Zombie Survival Guide.
It's fascinating at some points and Max has well thought out his Zombies however at other points it drags on about things that anyone who loves the Zombie medium already knows.

My relationship with anything-related-to-zombies is like the relationship of a zombie to living flesh. And certainly Max Brooks' little book of about surviving in a zombie apocalypse is a delight. Of course, technically speaking, this is not a book. It is just a manual of things, definition and classifications of zombies, how to kill zombies, and other whatnot. Nonetheless it was all a breeze. Hey, I am tempted to click at those two stars but because this is zombie thing, why not give it three? Hehe. Now let me proceed, hunt some brains and finish World War Z.
This book was the first “horror” book I read as a child. It sparked my imagination. The most remarkable thing about this book is its ability to paint a great picture of how humanity would deal with an unspeakable horror. I spent much of my childhood feeling ready for when the zombies finally struck.

I gave this book four stars because it affected me. Greatly.
Over the last few years I have developed a great fear of zombies. My ex bought me this book because clearly I needed some zombie survival tips since an impending zombie apocalypse looms in my mind.
While I found the book extremely helpful, I also found it terrifying. To the point that I couldn't read it by myself, OR at night. Had I remembered a certain episode of "Friends" I would have ended up putting the book in the freezer the one night I did attempt to read it alone.

I feel like I need to go run out and buy supplies. And plan.
Honestly, this book is stressful. All it really made me do was realize how unlikely it is that I will actually last longer than the first half hour should a zombie outbreak occur.
Most interestingly, it was in the non-fiction section at my local library.
