This was okay. Definitely dragged on and I agree with a lot of the other reviews it can be hard to follow at times with all the time hopping. Ending wasn’t really surprising but I didn’t hate it, so 3 stars seems fair.

I like Olsen's work normally. This one I think is not his best.

This book was mediocre. Has some somewhat high points for the most part very bland. I couldn't get excited about the characters or want to know more. Would not recommend unless you are a huge Gregg Olsen fan!

Have read almost all of this authors stories. Such a great author that keeps your attention throughout. I would give this one a 5 star but felt there was a little too much to the story and dragged out a little more than needed. But still a great mystery.

Emily Kenyon is called to a house which has been uprooted by the storm and she discovers 3 dead bodies, the only problem is they were all shot and their deaths were not because of the storm!
Emily has to solve these murders while trying to trace her daughter who just vanishes from her room overnight!

Is her daughter mixed up with the only survivor from the house affected by the storm or will she herself be a victim of the circumstances?

I picked up this book because it was a June book-of-the-month in the Novel Ladies book group. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in this and only made it about halfway through before I got completely bored. I was expecting so much more. Nothing here grabbed me. I didn’t care about Emily, except to think that she jumped to conclusions a little too quickly to be a good detective. I didn’t care about her daughter. I didn’t care about Nick and whether or not he killed his family. I especially didn’t care about the guy who may or may not have been a serial killer, and I didn’t read enough to find out how the heck his story was connected to the rest of it. I found the writing to be uninspired, and the “timestamps” more distracting than helpful. I know this is only Olsen’s second fiction book, but someone with 10 books under his belt should be able to figure out another way to tell me it’s 3 hours later in the day. There was just no suspense here for me. I’m curious to find out what the other Ladies thought of it!
