Wow! Such an affirming book for the black women and black people experiences. This book connects history to current events while intertwining the author’s experiences. The reverence towards her mother is beautiful. At times, I found myself emotional throughout this book. This was easily a 5 star book for me.

Excellent read. Primarily a memoir of the author who is a female black physician and her experience with our racist health care system and how challenging it is to work in. Many statistics of how we fail people of color in the health care system.
