I loved this so much and I have so many thoughts but no coherent ones at the moment.

I loved Lennon she’s one of the best FMCs I think I have ever read. Her character development throughout was just so good to see. I related to her struggles so much, and I really struggled at times to read some of the scenes regarding her ED (so I kinda wish it had a TW at the start because it felt like whiplash at times).

Overall this was a really good read even if I did cry so many times lmao

Was a bit difficult to get into, I think there was too much emphasis on the high school years.

I hated Phoenix. With a passion I hated him. I know we aren’t meant to like him but the character progression, my god.

The way this book had me crying for the last 30%

For a 600+ page book I was worried it would drag on and there couldn’t possibly be enough material that actually needed to be covered to warrant 600 pages, but there wasn’t a single moment of this book where I was wishing it would move along and be done already. The body image issues in the beginning were SO real and I liked how the author didn’t make them magically disappear when we fast forward in the book, and showed multiple instances where Lennon still struggled with those feelings sometimes despite losing weight, and I also liked that she didn’t completely change her body type- far more realistic that way.  I also liked that the conflict between them actually warranted the kind of hostile feelings Lennon had towards Phoenix and the entire conflict didn’t just ride on a dumb miscommunication, and we spend most of the book watching her work through her forgiveness and move on instead of just a dumb “I accidentally walked in on you doing something that looked sus and I don’t want to give you a chance to explain even tho I love you so I’m gonna ghost you for a week and then I’ll forgive you after some grand gesture where you explain what really happened”. Also the spice was SPICIN’ and even tho there was a fuck load of it (understandable given the length of this book) it didn’t feel overdone or forced at all.
