I literally needed to look at the themes of her other book to save myself from giving this a lower rating because TBH any part going into detail about her husband were the worst parts of the book. However, her focus on learning to love herself and accept her past experiences (and boy are they heavy) without keeling over to the unsolicited advice that the 'religious people' were throwing at her made me relate and look up to her strength.

This is a great book that easily stimulates a variety of conversations that are necessary and reflective. I especially liked the writing style because it reminded me of poetry, easily flowing into the next section and line. I will say this, though…look at the content warnings and take them seriously. I encourage whoever reads this book to be in a good place mentally.
