So very good. I love her writing. And now I guess I’ll have to read Practical Magic :)

We chose this for our October Patreon bookclub (Cocktail Hour at the Coop). I really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend to anyone. It is filled with stories of love, family love, romantic love, friendship all with a twist of magic.

This was an enjoyable read! Frankly I think I liked it more than practical magic. I also think that listening to this was the right choice, in my opinion it made the story much more enjoyable!

The story reads quite juvenile and the main characters are all teenagers, none of them very likeable. The rules of magic are never really explained. A sad rehash of Practical Magic.

This is a beautiful story about the love with TONS of witchy vibes. It has all the classic witchy things, specifically herbal magic, that just transports the reader in such a way that I've been seeking in a witchy book for a while. It's hard to explain, but it just gives me THAT feeling ya know?! Alice Hoffman's writing has incredible power that made me feel indescribable feelings and made me get so lost in the lyrical prose, to the point where I'd zone out about what was actually going on plot-wise, but I was confused in the best way, and I'd always find my way back. I didn't know much going into this book, so it surprised me when it touched upon such hard-hitting realities of human life, death, and everything in between. We could learn a lot from Alice Hoffman.

Let me start by saying that I did NOT read Practical Magic or see the movie. I will definitely be changing that, soon.

I loved this book! It made me laugh right out loud and then it made me cry like a baby. I loved the subtle and then not so subtle hints of magic throughout the book.

I recommend this to anyone and everyone that likes a book to be entertaining, depth of characters and just well written.

My thanks to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster for this advanced readers copy.
