A classic. I read this book along with many of Beatrix Potter's tiny stories. They're timeless and adorable. The paintings that go with the stories are wonderful. The books are stories that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Oh i love love love these books and the narator is so nostalgic for me

Such a classic! The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published in 1902, was Beatrix Potter's first book. One hundred years later this short tale of naughty Peter Rabbit's escape from Mr. McGregor's garden still brings to children all over the world the pleasure that it gave to its very first reader.

what horror

I had such a charming time with Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle I decided to revisit the whole series! This is definitely a 'behave children, and listen to your mother or it will go badly for you' story, but you can't help feeling sorry for naughty little Peter - I challenge anyone not to feel a heartstring tugged when you see him crying - and cheering at his timely escape. The artwork in this series is lovely; I can highly recommend the rereading experience.

Great classic stuff. :)

Story is basically one big chase scene, and a fairly good one with a surprising amount of twists and complications as Peter (unable to stay out of mischief) sneaks into Mr. McGregor's garden and has his escape route cut off when he's discovered.

The story does a good job of building tension, but doesn't do much in terms of character beyond Peter's tendency to disobey common-sense and get himself into trouble.

This was light fun, with some good bits of tension.
