Have you ever noticed that, in kids' books featuring anthropomorphised animals, the boys are usually only wearing shirts while the girls are almost always in full outfits? I could understand if everyone were to be in trousers, but typically it's pantsless for the fellas and skirts (or sometimes trousers as well) for the ladies. Of course, no one has any genitals, so it's not even a matter of prudishness. What a curious mystery.
