This delightful read chronicles the correspondence between two book lovers over 19 years.

Helene Hanff lives in New York and often has rare secondhand book requests that Frank Doel, store manager of a bookseller in London does his best to fulfill.

The rest of the shop keepers at Marks & Co. Booksellers end up having a relationship with Helene as well, sending letters and small gifts to one another, with each hoping that one day they will meet in person.

Helene's letters are thoughtful, yet comical and Frank's are rather dull and to the point. I very much wanted the two to meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after amongst their books, but so is not the case with this
tale.

I love reading other people's letters, they're such a voyeuristic/getting away with something thrill to it.
