This emotional whirlwind threw me for a rocker. I was expecting this to be another book of those TFIOS or Five Feet Apart kind of books with a dying main character but it was unique in that it showed the character’s denial then growing acceptance of death and the unknown.

4.25

I'm honestly between 4-4.5 so u thought 4.25 is a good fit.

Wow wow wow this book was life-changing to me. It was sad but wonderful all the same. I myself have always been on the fence about being an organ donor since I always thought it would be best to die in one piece, but this book changed my perspective on that. I've always had a close relationship with death not fearing it as much, but if I were in Amelia’s shoes that might be a different story. I now what to be an organ donor myself, and will be in the process of changing my ID as soon as I can. I now know how many innocent people have to wait so long for a single chance to get an organ they need. I hope one day, I will be able to be that person; for that one life can get that call, and as they wake up from their life-changing surgery they can look into the sky and think, “bittersweet.”

Brb I’m going to go cry

Ok I’m back and this book ugh this book. It had it’s moments and I almost gave it a five star if it wasn’t for the pacing. The ending has totally wrecked me btw, not TBDaTE wrecked me but it is somewhere on that scale.

It made me cry! I did not expect it, but there I was, crying. Sometimes a good cry is good, it has been a while since my last.

Amelia was born with a liver disease, but it has never really affected here. Until her last year of HS when it gets worse. She needs a liver transplant.
I liked Amelia, she tried so hard to go on with her life. To do the things she loves, painting, hanging out with her bestie. Not to be the dying girl since she felt almost like before anyway. She does not want the pitying looks.

Her best friend Syb tries to rally people to sign up for organ donation. She wants to fight!

An old friend shows up and is a light in darkness, sometimes you need that one person that does not talk about it.

No romance. Just a girl trying to come to terms with the fact that she might not get the liver that she needs to live.

And it made me cry! I had to say that again. It felt so real, she was so real, so normal.

A good book, and about a subject that I have not really read about before. And I realised that so many die every day when they do not get the transplants they need, all because people do not sign up to be donors. It does feel like a real waste.

Narration
The narration did a great job with Amelia, I really was in her head. Her other voices were great too. She made me feel.
