I love everything Rose writes, just to start out with. I loved the premise and characters in the 8th Rank and the romance element really pulled at my heartstrings. It did take me a little longer to get into it than it usually does, but I still absolutely enjoyed the story. I'm definitely excited about the sequel, because (no spoilers), the hinting of that made me read so fast that I had to pause and go back because I was getting so excited lol.

Another beautiful book with a great message and fantastic characters.

I've given this a pretty generous round up to 3 stars on this one. The story and creativity, the characters and world building, all hold a lot of potential, but the grammar and overall editing make it difficult to get enough of a reading flow. It's disappointing that this book did not go through even a preliminary editing processing. The scenery around the main group of characters could use some beefing up in the beginning. Despite all that, I still feel intrigued enough in the characters and world to finish reading the story through. Hence the generous 3 stars.

I really had high hopes for this book as the story line seemed really interesting. Somehow, for me, it missed the mark.
