לא אהבתי. הבנתי את העלילה בקווים כללים, אבל הרבה ממה שקרה בספר לא הצלחתי לפענח. כן הייתה תחושה של מועקה מאוד כבדה לאורך כל הספר וזה נראה לי מכוון, כך שהספר כן עובד. אבל לא בשבילי.

Another book i had to read for my english literature class and overall it wasnt an awful read. I loved how Jean Rhys gave a voice to Antoinette/ Bertha and we got to explore the characters world, and also see a more twisted version of Rochester.

Unfortunately, i hated how confusing it was a points, my idea of a 'good book' is not one with parts i need to read over to fully grasp just whats happening because of Rhys' patchwork fragmented writing style.

What a great little book. This was a super quick read and I'm glad I was forced to read it for class. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone even if you haven't yet read Jane Eyre. Super easy to get through and interesting.

I'm a sucker for an interesting title, but this book was a huge disappointment to me. I don't know what I expected, but this wasn't it. I MUST read "Jane Eyre".

genuinely my fault for not reading the summary - i had no idea what was happening since i’ve never read jane eyre and was confused for like 60% of the book.
