It's rare that I don't love some Lauren Blakely books, and this one doesn't disappoint. It does have a few not-so-happy moments so maybe check for triggers if that's your thing.

Tripp, Lou, Lulu. That 3 legged stool. The 3 best friends. After besties Lou and Tripp meet Lulu and the same time, and she's perfectly eclectic and adorably stunning. Tripp acts first and Lou decides to leave her alone. And he falls in love with her, even though she is with his bestie. He stuffs that love down and continues the trio of besties... until he can't.

The writing is usual for LB, there are plenty of LOL moments, there are some sad moments. This book kind of gives it all to you in some way. Lots of great side characters, and since this is a series of standalones, I look forward to seeing most of them at one point or another.

Story of Leo and Lulu

This was a great book, lots of funny moment that had me laughing out loud and was captured by the sad times.

Great audible book, full cast of characters and a bonus post production discussion with the cast.

First let me start by saying, I was a little skeptical at first about the number of narrators involved in this project. As a creature of habit, I was worried I would not be able to keep up. But curiosity and my love for Lauren Blakely had me grab it and what an amazing adventure this book is! Leo and Tripp are best friends, and both in love with Lulu. With best friend code though, Leo has kept his feelings to himself, since Tripp asked her out first. As years go by, a marriage and unfortunate circumstances, Leo finds himself with the opportunity of being with Lulu. And now the fun really begins! Blakely has once again captured my heart. With sadness, loyalty, friendship and love, this story comes to life with each character bringing it's own power and personality. It was like we knew each one personally and could relate so easily. She lets us go back in time and experience all the feelings this trio has, and weaves each flashback in so we have a good understanding of where Leo and Lulu stand. And the best part is it involves chocolate! Who can go wrong with that?

This cast of narrators, Andi Arndt, Sebastian York, January Lavoy, Julia Whelan, R.C. Bray, Shane East, Joe Arden, Erin Mallon, Dion Graham, Savannah Peachwood, Jason Clarke, Robin Miles were nothing short of amazing. Once I jumped in and started to listen, I found myself involved in the movie in my mind as each one took the stage. They melded flawlessly, the chemistry evident and the story just flowed. The blooper reel and antics at the end left me laughing out loud too! The perfect ending to the book.

Birthday Suit is downright fun! It's sexy and romantic too but I had such a blast with this story. Lulu is a kind of free spirit and zany. Leo is the perfect friend and you just want to keep him for yourself. Their friendship is stupidly wonderful! They get each other. They thrive in each other's presence. It is perfect. Now throw in the feels and the attraction and they set this scavenger hunt up in a blaze of hormones.

Blazing fire, guilt, and lust make an awfully awkward situation...not quite chocolate wrestling at a show but...

Birthday Suit is every bit of romantic swoon worthy fun that you would expect from Lauren Blakely. Its even more EXTRA when you listen to the audio book! Multiple narrators owning these characters and leaving you drooling on yourself. Eargasms delightfully abound! Seriously...
(I won't even tell you there's a special interview with the two lead narrators at the end...nope! I won't say a thing!)

This was a fun story about second chances and love after a failed/lost love. I especially enjoyed all the different voice talents. It was a seamless production.

Have you ever said “he/she is the one that got away” and then unexpectedly he/she came back into your life? That is pretty close to what happened to Leo. Leo met Lulu in college and fell in love almost (as he says) from day one. Unfortunately for Leo so did his best friend, Tripp. After 10 years Lulu literally falls back into Leo’s arms while tripping over a chocolate fountain at a chocolate conference. Hmmm, chocolate….a girl's best friend (mine anyway). Lulu was married to Leo’s best friend and oddly never suspected Leo having more feelings for her than just friendship. As the story progresses we learn the outcome/fate of Lulu and Tripp’s marriage. You also learn how Leo managed to hide his feelings. This story of friendship, unrequited love, and second chances is beautifully written. As always Lauren Blakely writes with heart, sexual tension, personal struggles of how to handle the situation, and heat. Leo is a true Blakely boy, charming, handsome, loveable, sexy, and a heart-of-gold. Lulu, as all other Blakely heroines is smart, sexy, funny, strong in character, beautiful inside and out. I totally adore this book as well as all other Lauren Blakely books. I received an ARC of Birthday Suit in exchange for a honest review. If you like heart, compassion, sexual tension, well-developed characters, and witty banter then you will enjoy Birthday Suit. 5 stars*****

oh my god, I love Lauren Blakely and her freaking books!

Birthday Suit was definition a second chance at romance for these two main characters. Even though I definitely think they should've been first loves in the beginning. But then again, we wouldn't have had an amazing romance to watch if that actually happened.

In this book, you will meet Leo and Lulu. They are both very fond of chocolate.. but then again, who isn't? They both sort of had a crush on each other at one point in their lives.. one more than the other. When they came back into each other's lives, I just knew that I was going to ship them. It sucks that they both lost someone in common.. but they healed together (sort of).

The smut was amazing, however, it took forever for it to happen. It could just be me but it was definitely worth the wait. I wish I got more because these two definitely had chemistry and sparks! Besides the romance, the little drama was interesting but didn't really hold my attention.

In the end, I loved this book and enjoyed the crap out of it. I need another one of her books stat!

5+ stars!!
Lauren Blakely has outdone herself! Birthday Suit may be my new favorite Blakely book. A laugh out loud, friends-to-lovers, masterpiece with an added emotional forbidden element, I absolutely loved it! There's an ease to Lauren's words. She makes it feel so effortless. She sucks you in with her fantastically witty banter, outstanding character chemistry, and smile inducing plot lines. I swear, Lauren should teach a class on how to perfect banter. This book is everything I love about rom coms!

Leo and Lulu are a dream couple. Their riddles and easy rapport made my heart so happy. From their very first interaction, I knew I was already completely in love with them. I mean, of course. How do you not fall head-over-heels for a Blakely hero? Especially when he is as smart, sexy, and swoony as Leo. *Sigh Leo. I heart him so much. He's so fiercely loyal and selfless even to the point where he had to step aside from his own happiness.

And Lulu. She is just as wonderful as Leo. She is this smart, sassy, colorful woman with big chocolatey dreams. Dreams that she had to put aside because of her previous relationship. Now, that she is on her way to accomplishing everything she wanted, she's afraid that a new relationship will cause her to lose herself and her dreams again.

There was something about this book that felt different than a typical LB book. The forbidden "bro code" element took me by surprise. It was a little more emotional and deeper than I expected. I love that Lauren went there. So many can relate to both Leo and Lulu and the effects succumbing to addiction. It was just so well written.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Scavenger hunts, chocolates and epic kisses, this book was all kinds of decadent and delicious. Go get this book immediately.

ETA: I went back and listened to the audiobook and it was amazing. I'm not an audiobook fan but even I could not pass this one up. It was soo good. An audiobook game changer.
