She really is THAT book

"At one time I had liked the idea, that the act, at least, had bound us together; we were not ordinary friends, but friends till-death-do-us-part. This thought had been my only comfort in the aftermath of Bunny's death. Now it made me sick, knowing there was no way out. I was stuck with them, with all of them, for good."

beauty is terror.
one of the best books i have read in my life. highly deserved the praise. i found myself invested in every character. so much so that i felt absolute heart break for what happens to them. i’m left with a soft emptiness after reading this that makes me think “i wish i could read this again for the first time”.

I loved this book. As a heavy romance reader usally books without romance don't intrest me but this book had me from the very first sentence. The more that I think about this book the more layered and complex I realise that it is. The writing was beautiful and atmospheric I felt as if I were being transported right into the very page. The characters were complex and I think what I like most is that the main character Richard is an unreliable narrator so it makes the reader think far beyond the surface and even days after I find my thoughts straying to the possibilities of unanswered questions. I think this may be my favourite read so far this year.
