This book is perfect for beginners who never had their wattpad phase and I think that's great. But for an advanced reader it's truly underwhelming. The story has no structure, the drama is petty and I'm pretty sure it was originally written about underage characters.
The main characters are immature but you get used to it. There were a few instances where smutty scenes were a bit cringy but otherwise they weren't badly written.

‼️Trigger warning: alcohol (they are drunk and partying 24/7); disordered eating (she's fatshamed and barely eats, counts calories, etc. But she overcomes it in the end.), accidental pregnancy, death of a parent (historical, off-page)

loooved it!!

After one of the ice rinks at UCMH is vandalised, the hockey team and figure skaters have to double up and share ice time on the remaining rink.

Nathan, being an all around good guy and the captain of the hockey team, wants everyone to get along and for the shared time to go smoothly. But one of the figure skaters, Anastasia, is having none of his friendliness. None of his concern, attempts at extending the olive branch, and definitely not his charm.

Until she is. Having all of it and then some, that is.

I’ve been seeing this book posted everywhere recently, so when I read the blurb (unusual for me, I know) I knew it’d be right up my alley.

I loved basically everything about it.

Stas, the goal-driven, sassy, strong, teasing, planner, and Nate, the heart-of-gold, caring, sometimes goofy, sort-of-manwhore, nurturer. They’re so different but not quite opposites. Both ambitious and driven, funny and kind. Neither of them set out to be together, to start a relationship. In fact, Stas was adamantly against it for the longest time whilst Nate was the one playing for keeps.

The fact that Nate was a typical college guy, sleeping around and having fun but not a coldhearted douche about it was refreshing. I like that he wasn’t written as innocent, but his promiscuous ways weren’t off-putting or gross.

And Stas being so sexually open, so honest about what she did and didn’t want, and who with, was empowering.

I hated how much she let Aaron manipulate her though. Grade A jerkhole.

The camaraderie between the guys was a palpable thing, and I loved their banter and their clear love for one another. And for the girls.

And the best thing about Icebreaker? No insane drama! Everything felt so organic and moved at a natural pace. Everyone just got along - for the most part. No OW or OM scandals. Such a refreshing take on a college sports romance novel.

I never write reviews. Just stars. I also normally take 24 hours to finish a book. This one took me 48, not because it was long or boring or drawn out - but because I didn’t want it to end. Every character was perfect, story wasn’t overly unbelievably dramatic. Great from start to finish. I’m sad it’s over!
