Lori Gottlieb is a practicing psychotherapist.  This book sheds the light on what that treatment looks like.  Lori is a therapist and she's seeing a therapist so we get to see both sides.  I found the book very interesting and was very engaged in the patients, as well as, Lori.  I walked with a number of takeaways that I hope to use in my own life.  I  think that the book helps destigmatize getting treatment for mental health issues or just to deal with something from your past or present.

A really lovely little memoir about complicated people. I wish Gottlieb had spent less time making references and quotes (particularly as one of them was incorrectly attributed), because they would often distract from whatever insight she would be trying to express. Nevertheless, the book as a whole was incredibly funny, heartbreaking, and life-affirming, as the best of its kind often are. I look forward to reading it again in a few years, and finding something new within its pages.
