First of all I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Brittany Pressley did a phenomenal job. It was so easy to follow and while this book sometimes got very dark and heavy it was still very enjoyable to follow.
I loved Lori's growth throughout the book and it was so exciting to read her thoughts and feelings. The work she did with her patients was inspiring and I very much enjoyed the way she interacted with and cared for them. John and Julie have a special place in my heart and I loved to follow their storylines so much, even though I shed some tears here and there.
The sessions with her therapist Wendell also were so incredibly well done, I simply loved all characters and their stories.
This book was interesting, beautiful, inspiring and sad. I went to therapy last summer and while listening to the audiobook I realised how much it helped me. I was just talking to my husband yesterday that my therapist gave me the necessary tools to help with my anxiety and I'm doing so good right now.
I feel like that is a book I maybe want to get a physical copy of someday and reread because there is so much knowledge and beauty in those pages. If you like this kind of memoir I highly recommend picking it up!
