I appreciated the discussion of Packard's journey but i think it would have been beneficial to examine her activism in the context of its time just a bit more. One sentence about how she maybe might have been just a smidge racist doesn't seem like enough of an exploration of that side of the picture, but perhaps that's a separate book.
