Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was engaging with the Anthropocene in 1818 (though I think her argument better fits Haraway’s Chthulucene). Perhaps this suggests that the Great Acceleration was not as significant of a moment for Anthropocene theory as we currently assume.

Anyway, I’m a big fan of this edition. I read all the supplementary material and it was so good.

wow. Mary’s a genius. This book is obviously a methapor of the prejudices that exist in society, i think. The world was cruel with the live that frankenstein created simply because he wasn’t pretty. His intentions weren’t bad, but every human treated him badly, obviously he won’t trust anyone once again. I think that the story was perfect, the writing marvelous, and the ending very realistic
