I really wanted to like this book more but it really dragged for me.  It may have been the book, it may be everything that is going on in my life.
It's not often that a romance has two jewish characters set in historical jewish setting.  The plot was puzzling and confusing at times. It made more sense after reading the explanations at the end.  I wish that I had that information up front because there were terms and situations I did not understand.

Definitely a cut above many historicals because of its takes on challenging cultural scenarios. I just wish that I had known more. May need to reread.

This came highly recced and I love fairy tale retellings so it should have been perfect for me. But I had a hard time getting into this book - my attention kept drifting and I would catch myself scrolling through my phone after only reading a couple pages. I'm sure it was a me issue - the characters were unique, it was paced well, etc. I finally admitted defeat, skimmed most the middle, and then read the end.

MARRY ME BY MIDNIGHT is one of my favorite historical romances. Felicia Grossman did an exceptional job with the Jewish representation, which isn’t often seen in romance books, and writing characters you fall in love with.

My favorite aspect of this book is the banter between Isabelle and Aaron. I could read a whole series of their banter. And when the banter turned flirty and steamy - it was the chef’s kiss!

I thought Justine Eyre was a wonderful narrator for the book. I enjoyed the different voices she used for the characters especially when they were bantering!

This was a delightful read. It made me happy. I love seeing Jewish representation on the page, and I hope this means there is more to come. Plus, I loved it in a historical romance setting with two characters who work so well together! It’s a must-read for historical romance fans!

Thanks, Hachette Audio, for the gifted ALC! Thanks, Forever and Netgalley, for the gifted arc!

I'm very conflicted about this story... I found parts of the basic plot implausible, which made reading more of a struggle than normal. However, the hero & heroine are very compelling, and their struggle of getting together very real.

Also, the jewish historical content was fascinating, and I look forward to reading and learning more about the world the author has written.
