Elliott Rose

2.5 rounded to 3 stars. This a RH. It was super half-baked. I almost DNF'd a few times...

Give me a book, a very dark, decidedly dark romance and I will be happy, very happy... So much so that I would like to reread it over and over again.
This was the first book by Elliott Rose that I read but now I want to read everything she has published and will publish... how can I not adore a very spicy and dark love story with morally absolutely unconventional characters. Foxglove (Fox) is the daughter of very evil and devious people. I won't give you an account of the plot because you have to enjoy it like me, above all being amazed by the succession of many, many twists and turns! Oh I forgot there are also secret societies and reading that is a roller coaster of emotions and a myriad of emotions. If I've intrigued you at least a little, run and buy it and read it. Rating 4.5 ⭐

4.25/5 ⭐️

Feeling far too many emotions right now. All at once, I’m annoyed, confused, emotional/happy for their ending

Goodness that was devine! What a great book, and a great plot!
There was a part of this book that had me sweating literally everywhere! Omg. That scene will live forever with me.

DID NOT FINISH: 50%

Erotica is a fitting genre to put for this bc the plot is just setup for sex in a way to alleviate the reader of guilt for non-con and dub-con situations.

But Jesus Christ it’s long and somehow BORING? Don’t understand how that is possible.

Do you want to read a book where the FMC is a blubbering idiot when she’s around any of the MMCs? Where she just stares and drools like a weirdo and has never seen good looking dudes before.

Do you want to read a book that  every chapter of the FMCs POV has multiple paragraphs describing the MMCs appearance, talks about how her p*ssy reacts to them, then follows it up reminding you that they are big bad men?

Do you want to read the first 100 pages and BARELY get any interaction between the FMC and MMCs?

Do you want to read a book where the FMC reminds you of her terrible backstory every chance she gets in her POV? Just in case you forget I guess.

Do you want to read a book that has an FMC refusing to eat bc food allergies I guess? But then complains she’s hungry and would rather protest instead of just telling them she can’t eat the food they are giving her? Because I dunno why…

Do you want to read a book where the MMCs are your usual why choose bunch with nothing special about them? Your charming, funny guy, the brutally mean one that hates everyone, and the older guy in charge with trauma that he uses to control everyone and everything and keeps everyone at a distance.

Well then this is the book for you. It wasn’t for me. It was bad. So so bad. Oh and uh.. they want vengeance because her dad was the leader of trafficking and their plan is to kidnap a girl, force her to have sex with them, and “own” her. Because that makes sense right? Give me a break.

Is this review late? Maybe, don't judge me, it was the holidays...
Anyway, let's get into Foxglove and her men. What a bunch I tell you...

Foxglove was more than I expected, she grew and had backbone, and didn't give in easily (but when you have three hot af guys, you do give in eventually). The back and forth before she got involved with them for the first time was great, the tension was there and I was dying for them to kiss, brush hands, anything. I liked that it was a gradual thing, it didn't happen overnight, the relationship with each one moved and grew individually before it did as a group. She was great, but I wish she was a little mad at the end. I liked how personal the relationship with each person in the group was. It never felt like a copy and paste, Fox had a different relationship with all of them.

Thorne, daddy MMC, was the tough cookie, even when he was in, he still had secrets and things he was holding back (still don't get why not share it with the class...) but his relationship with Fox was angsty and sweet, and the way he finally accepted that Ky was something more than a friend (BOOMSHAKALAKA YES GOOOOOD). I wish we had MM action with him and Raven here, but we did get it on the epilogue ([b:Foxglove, Thorne, Kyron, Raven|216867635|Foxglove, Thorne, Kyron, Raven (Port Macabre)|Elliott Rose|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1722005046l/216867635._SY75_.jpg|223322634] href="https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7109324180" my review).

Raven, broody MMC, what can I say? I love a quiet, mean man. He truly had the bi-panic hitting Ky and Thorne, lol. He was so protective and loyal, and once he trusted Fox, his love was precious. They shared things only they could. His relationship with Ky was also the cutest thing ever.

Kyron, jokester MMC, he was the (horny) golden retriever that they needed. He was the one who pushed and made them all realize what they were missing. His POVs were so fun, he truly was looking at EVERYONE in the group and salivating. Love a hot king.

The ending... that's what made the book a little less good for me. I wanted more of a conclusion, I felt a little rushed, and, sure, the twist was there, didn't see it coming, but the hints from Thorne made it look like it would be a 'more' type thing and I still don't understand why not share it with the group so they could be prepared. I wanted Fox, Ky, and Raven to at least be a little mad with Thorne for keeping things, but in the end, it was a great book and can't wait to read Poe's story AND whatever-her-name-is-that's-a-bff-of-Fox too.
