Chapter 39 can easily be skipped, there was zero need for it! I want to recommend this book but I feel like I have to tell everyone to skip that chapter.
DNF @ a record breaking 10%.
What a terrible book. There’s just so much wrong with the writing and plot. Part of this is on me. I like to go into books blind so other peoples opinions don’t cloud my expectations so I didn’t know this was a mafia “romance”.
That being said, I’m starting to think that mafia romances aren’t for me. So far, the couple that I’ve read I’ve not liked. They’ve always been badly written with the mmcs and fmc being terrible, toxic people. Even well beyond what can be looked over because it’s fictional.
Starting with the writing:
- I regularly couldn’t tell who was talking
- I stopped at chapter 7 and still didn’t know what the Anguis was
- one of the mmcs kept talking about his brother, who is that? No idea. No explanation given as to who the hell he was talking about.
- incredibly cliche lines like “my darkness” and “my demons”… over and over again
- writing was unvaried, boring, and frankly simplistic
- and this all goes on for 70… SEVENTY… chapters; I checked by skimming a head
Next is the plot:
- I started reading this book because the author said it was a RH where the boyfriends are boyfriends. They are not boyfriends. They are angry guys that f^ck each other sometimes.
- fmc is a doormat who makes dumb choices
- she states she’s fearful of being kidnapped by her father but gets into a car with three strangers that she’s never met before!
- fmc states she’ll fight back but never really does
- there’s kinky sexy times and then there is misogyny; the author needs to figure out the difference between the two
- fmc is regularly called derogatory names: like a little light degradation is great and all but damn give the slut shaming a rest hot stuff
- mmcs have no redeeming qualities, just straight up douchebags
What I did like:
- good list of trigger warnings

They could’ve cut 200 pages of this book and it wouldn’t have changed the story or what we know of the characters. There was so much repetitive monologue and really boring scenes. There was barely any character development and almost nothing happened for chapters at a time. I struggled to connect with the characters because they only really connected during spicy scenes.

Okay this was a good book i was hooked every minute of the journey that was this book. This is a dark why choose romance with great characters and plot i think. The fmc Fox is a tattoo artist that is lured and kidnapped by the 3 mmc Ky, Ven and Thorne. They hate her because of reasons and her parents are she has no idea why. They own her and have plans for her especially in the gang wars.
I thought the character development was great between the characters as each of the mmc’s got close to the fmc and the romance blossomed. It’s an instant attraction kinda a but not for all the mmc’s. All the mmc’s are different in the way they show affection and in the smut scenes and i really liked that. There are a lot of smutty scenes in this one omg it made me reduce my rating a bit lol. If you like that you’re going to love this. The ending was wild but i loved how everything wrapped up!
Read if you like:
- Dark romance
- Mafia/gang worlds
- Why choose polyamorous romance
- Lots of smut

This was a hard pass. How do you look at someone that just told you that they were going to have you gang raped in front of a crowd as part of a ritual to seek vengeance against your father for things that have nothing to do with you and say- yeah, I want to sleep with him because he’s just so hot I can’t resist? The main character had no personality and was basically just a wet vagina that was begging for attention regardless of who was giving it. I’m so tired of book FMC literally having no thoughts in their head other than he’s hot I need him to want me.
If Elliott Rose writes it, I am going to read it!
She has a way of luring you in the story and connect with the characters within the first few pages.
Loved the characters, the spice was very spicy and the chemistry between all 4 was just perfect.
Also read the novella and pre-ordered the 2nd book in the series, I love this series!
