Okay.. So from what I garnered from this volume, there are Humans that live in The Hole. The Sorcerer's are such because of blood trait/genetics maybe? Sorcerers have specialties (ex. healing/fungi/live vivisection/reptiles?), wear masks, and usually work in pairs. Demons also exist. Brooms are ridden via smoke production which can be exhaled (or extruded from fingers, which may be a less advanced technique?), the residual smoke buildup in The Hole causes wonkiness like zombies.
The crumbs we keep getting about every character's backstory starts to weave a complex web the further we go along.
Cause omg, Caiman can be beheaded without any real repercussions, Nikaido is/was a sorcerer? And other surprises!!!
