I didn't love this, but it was different. The writing was a bit tedious, but the story was unique. I haven't seen the movie in decades, but the Cenobites were a big feature in the movie, but minor in the book. None of the characters were likeable, but I think that was necessary to the story and he did a good job filling in their motives.

the read of The Hellbound Heart is a special one because someone saw me reading The Haunting of Hill House on the train and gave me this because they thought I would like it which I think is just so nice.

honestly, it was crazy and bizarre, for anyone to come up with this is wild. I liked the exploration of lust, creed, need and want through several different characters. it also reiterates the fact that men need to be stopped (joke). needed it to be longer tho please.
