I don't usually talk about climate issue (not even think that I would someday read a book about it) but since I finish reading this book (and I need to upload a book picture for my feed 🥲) and it's soo good, it's such a shame not to share. So read more if you're interested 🐳🌱

This book started by stating that knowledge is important. Since this book is targeted to younger readers, I feel like it's important to emphasize the reason behind actions related to climate issues before jumping on doing one (or more). For me personally, it makes me empathize with the issue and want to know more.

Swipe to slide 2 and you'll see a planet-o-meter. This is a useful diagrams that shows what an effort can saves (whether it's helping the animals, the air, etc) how much is the impact, how much it costs and how difficult it is to implement. Super helpful!

While I do think that some efforts are hard (like talking to politician or changing the school policies) and definitely need a more 'comfortable' school environment, a lot of them are about changing our daily habits (like mend your old clothes or spend more time away from the screen to avoid charging device too often). This book also emphasize that we don't need to be carbon zero right away (fyi, it's impossible), but instead we need to be more mindful in our daily actions.

Other than covering climate issues, I think this book also encourages the reader to be critical and asking more questions before doing something. The questions are not limited to "where did my food come from?" but also, "is this action relevant to where I am right now?" Especially because this book is from a western country ✨️

This book also emphasize on the importance of making the change together and in our own pace. As quoted in page 189:

"It's far better to have millions of people taking action imperfectly than to have just a handful trying to live a zero-carbon life while everyone else does nothing."

I recommend this book for adults and younger readers who want to start reading about climate issue in fun ways!

Smalls steps can make the biggest difference. This book might provide simple changes in habits and light information on climate change but I believe it is effective nonetheless!

Solid information for the younger set who is just getting started being enraged by lack of action on the climate crisis.
