I’m really impressed. Published in 2018, but still very much relevant, including the evidence of well-grounded research which is reflected by the apparent ability to predict the future AI and machine learning debates of chatgpt in 2023.
Accessible breakdown of how AI programming is constructed and used across a range of contexts, while unflinching in acknowledging the weaknesses of AI systems.
While not drawn out in the conclusion, I was also very ich struck by a running thread of “the problem is capitalism” that lurked beneath the surface. Instead, a meaningful call to combine machine and human strengths in tandem to maximise accuracy and efficiency for all.
Well worth the read, and a comfortable listen at x1.65.
