3.7 i def teared up at the end of this book. it was an enjoyable read about a curmudgeonly older swedish guy named ove. at first i was surprised that he was married at all, but it soon became clear that his wife had died a few years back. he spends a large part of the book trying unsuccessfully to kill himself, since he's not that interested in going on without her, especially after he gets let go from his job; presumably for not being computer savvy enough. parts were funny, and it was def heartwarming to read about the relationship between him and his preggo neighbor pravenah develop. i also loved how much her kids liked her. i had a little trouble keening some of the periphery characters straight, but it was ultimately nice that the neighbor jimmy and the boy misrad (who ove graciously let stay with him after his dad kicked him out after coming out) got married and ove was the best man. it was almost TOO much how ove came off as so disgruntled but then had such a big heart, both literally and figuratively. did he kill himself at the end? i thought he got over that, but then the note by his bed made me think it was on purpose. while i really liked the story line about the cat, i found it incredibly unbelievable that it would follow him around/was so well trained. overall i did really like this book though.

Meh I didn't really connect with it as much as I had hoped :/ maybe I wasn't paying enough attention?? Really really wanted to love this but idk... Writing was lovely though

LOVED OVE this man has my heart i love him i cried my eyes out even before
his death

This is so wholesome I’m not crying you are

Guessed the premise of the book within the first couple pages, so I lost interest.

Loved it, so sad but so heartwarming at the same time. Feels like on the brink of winter under a warm blanket about to fall asleep while reading.
