Read this aloud with my boys (10 & 8). We all just love Anne. The stories are sweet and often make us giggle, and I appreciate Montgomery's breadth of vocabulary!

I don't know if this is controversial or not but I much prefer this sequel than the first novel. Marilla was a very engaging character in this novel and I loved seeing Anne as a teacher. The students' adventures in this novel was really fun and kept me reading. The love story weaved through this was so romantic. Absolutely adored this novel.

I loved Anne of Green Gables. However, this book was slow and filled with a lot of uninteresting details. It was a nice read and i really tried to like it more but it felt dragged out and boring to me. I will probably read the other books of the series but not for awhile.
