Loved it. Great food and relationships writing. Loved Alba. This story is just on the edge of YA but kissing is light. Handles tough themes with compassion and delicacy.

What a great book! So visual and brilliantly atmospheric I could easily visualize the neighbourhood so well. The food descriptions were so good I could almost smell the bread. I can’t help thinking that this book would make an amazing musical. Where you at Lin Manuel Miranda? I’ve got your next musical project here. Think “In The Heights” meets “The Waitress” but for middle schoolers. I could totally see this. You call me when you’re ready Lin. Seriously though this book was beautiful and earnest and so well done. I also loved how the MC has short hair like me. It’s not often you get female characters with short boyish hair. The ways Alba navigates the world where people thinks she’s a boy is great. This book has everything: character development and change, the brushes of first crushes, and carbs. The carbs!

I will read anything set in Spain and the setting of this novel, Barcelona, was a treat. I ended up liking the setting and the language more than the plot and the characters, though. Except for Abuela, I loved abuela. The child abuse and domestic violence was hard to read, as I expect it is supposed to. The pacing is slow and I am not sure if many readers will stick with this one.

Coming of age, found family, recovering after abuse, light romance, David Bowie references, Spanish/Tagalog dialogue, and the science of bread making.

This book is just so sweet, and Alba's a really relatable character.
Maybe I'll write a review on it.

All You Knead is Love is a cute story about friendships and family. The cover is absolutely adorable and I’m grateful for the new things I learned about bread, lol!

I love how confident and secure Alba became in herself, her friendships, and her family. The story did seem a little long and dragged on during some parts, but overall, it was a cute read.

This is a story that really grips you by the heart. You feel everything that Alba feels from happiness and joy to anger and pain. You laugh and cry right along with her. You feel her rage and her hurt.
This story is one of belonging and acceptance and of never settling. Despite this book dealing with some extremely heavy subjects its done with such grace. You really feel and understand what is going through Alba's mind as she faces these things that she must go throw.
This book is one I wish I had growing up and I am glad I have it now. I am glad this book is going to be others for those who need it. I will be working to recommend this book not only to those who will enjoy it as I did but also to those who need this book.
