I read most of these books back when they were first published and loved them. Finally getting around the finishing them and they're still very entertaining even as an adult.

It's the final chapter in the Cahill story...or is it? The family now has to work together to succeed.

This is one of my favorite series! The audiobooks truly permit for the storyline to come to life. I look forward to each read and have always anticipated the unfolding narrative for the books to come. This book was no different.
Dan, Amy, the Cahill family, and their secrets, all face a showdown of desires and inner truth. Characters you couldn't help but mistrust and despise for their cunning and deceit at the beginning of this series have now become more human, layered and loveable. In beginning this series, I hadn't intended on ever finding Ian and Natalie to be noteworthy characters with lengthy character growth, and yet... here we are. It's a relief to finally see the missing pieces of the plot coming together in this book. Where the true origins and understanding of the family line, Grace and Dan and Amy's future comes to light.

I enjoyed this conclusion. It was a nice wrap up to the story but felt a little rushed at times.
It seemed to be too harsh of a turning point to shave Shinade join the clue hunt again and just immediately have the realization that she can give up the serum to Dan and Amy. Other than that I enjoyed the characters’ individual progressions towards teamwork.

3 and a half. Yeah! I am finally done with The 39 Clues!!! I was satisfied with the ending--which sets things up for a sequel series down the road. Not the best ever, but a pretty good kids series and I liked the intro to so many significant historical figures.

I pushed through the series, but wasn't engrossed in it.

So, it was pretty obvious where this was going several books ago, but it was still pretty satisfying to get to the end! After several books looking at the four original Cahill branches, we finally learn about a Madrigal: Shakespeare! Dan, Amy, and Nellie jaunt about London, gathering the final clues, while the other teams simply follow them. But alliances are shifting and people are beginning to realize whom their family members really are. This leads to a final few chapters worthy of a National Treasure movie!
But I'm just...a bit concerned. Because there's one more book in the main series, and apparently we're not done with things. There's new things. And more books. And, while I'm glad there's more, I'm a bit concerned over how enjoyable this all could be, without the main series conflict.
But I am certainly going to keep reading! Here we go!
