It's good to know how much of best friends Micah and Ollie were, because the only interaction we get of them in catacomb (for obvious reasons) are texts, and I feel like that wasn't enough.
Micah did have a really shitty attitude through the whole book, though. First involving them both with the bone artists, then making it seem like nothing happened with Diane??? What the fuck boy??? And that last email??? I'm not and have never been there for you when you lost people important to you but please move on k bye??? What the fuck, kid. Seriously.

Was this novella a draft of a future book, and they just published it because reasons. I kept reading believing it would get better but no. Just like every book before this one, and it includes the 3rd installment, it just a rough draft of a potential great book.
Bright side you just waste about an hour reading it.

*3.75* This definitely left me wanting more. I think that is the worst part about novellas. It was nice to get a backstory on Micah as he was in Sanctum. It is situations like this in the story that freak me out because they involve real people and things that can happen in real life. I for sure have to pick up Catacomb right away because I need more of Oliver’s story.
I thought Roux did a good job developing the characters and their relationships in the short amount of time. I felt like I understood Oliver and had a connection with him regarding wanting to get out and go to college.
There were definitely the creepy vibes that are present in Roux’s stories and that tension/ dread that as you read you know something is going to happen. She did such a great job of giving little details and snapshots of the bone artists that left you with tons of questions, convincing you that you need to pick up the next book!
Overall I found this novella to be a dark and creepy read perfect for reading late at night. It has the chill factor and it’s focused on New Orleans which is known for its creepy atmosphere. Although short it introduced some dynamic characters that you want to know more about!

Spanish/English Review.

Out of the 2 short novels in this series (not including Escape from Asylum because I consider it more of a short book than a novella). I feel like this one had mor depth and more context of the secret society while in The Scarlets it was exaggeratedly vague.

In the The Bone Artists, we go to Micah's past, who we met in Sanctum and a new character, Oliver. The story was a bit more creepy and given my love for conspiracy theories, I loved how Oliver didn't trust the situation throughout the novel.

I won't give out more spoilers, but with this novella I felt a rush of commitment to read Catacomb.
