i couldn’t tell you the plot of this book?? and the smut wasn’t even good … there i said it
DNF — Overly sexual to the point that it overwhelms the plot.
I don’t want to read a book where every other page is a sex scene rather than meaningful character development or actual story progression. When intimacy becomes the centerpiece instead of a complement to the plot, it loses its impact and makes the narrative feel shallow and repetitive. I also didn’t understand the instant sexual obsession that appeared out of nowhere at the beginning — maybe it’s something that gets explored more deeply later on, but I honestly didn’t feel enough interest to keep going.
I read this book in the past and thought I will re-read it and complete all books in the series. When reading this as a 30 year old woman, I must say I am very tired after reading this book. The destructive relationship between Eva and Gideon has absolutely worn me out. I don’t think this portrays a healthy relationship for young women to crave. Just because guy is good in bed and likes to fuck does not make him a good partner.
I will still read the rest of books in the series hoping that maybe we will still get a development from destructive to healthy relationships.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a quick read and I actually liked both of the main characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Also... Gideon is amazing.
Love love love. Took a bit to get into it but then once finished I started all over again. I enjoyed that Eva was a strong, independent woman and also that they both had their own issues to deal with. Was so happy it's a series, want more on these two.
OK. What is it about women falling for the Millionaire. Seriously!? This is the type of poppycock (don't judge me, I'm bringing back that epic word!) that makes the story just seem ridiculous and unrealistic. I really can't empathise with anyone when I'm not 100% into the story.
Fifty Shades without the BDSM.
2 Stars as it's the first in series.

Okay, so I have mixed feelings about Gideon and Eva. Like they had some really cute (and spicy) scenes but so much of this book felt like back and forth miscommunication, fighting, and then sex to round it all off. Two years ago maybe I would have fallen head over heels for them but right now I have no inclination to continue reading about them.

This is a nice change: the rich MMC notices the MFC and lusts after her, it's funny to see her scoff and "flip her hair." There are very detailed, steamy scenes, and they both come from a tough place and are trying to find a place in each other's lives.
