Starting this series because I'm looking for erotic and romance reading. Turns out it's not my cup of tea anymore. I remember this series came out not long after [b:Fifty Shades of Grey|10818853|Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)|E.L. Or rather people said Crossfire series as an alternative reading beside 50 shades.
To be honest, the feeling isn't as the same as I read 50 shades. I enjoyed 50 shades and the erotic-romance story (but that was long time ago), but for this book, I can't help always rolling my eyes and gagging while reading it. The story was meh and messy. The dialogue was...
The erotic scenes, it's quite enjoyable but just no... for me.
The only good thing about this book is not romantize BDSM and another sexual behavior. Just two people with traumatize past live that want to build a healthy and functional relationship through sex.
girl knows NOTHING about this man and is shocked when she knows nothing. the smooching was 3/10. needed to be weirder. on to the second....sigh...

Entertaining for sure. Has some flashes of 50 Shades of Grey. I liked the characters a lot. Some of it is really cheesy and infuriating but I read the whole thing and was looking for more.

This one completely pulled me in. I gave it 5 stars because it had everything I love in an intense, emotional romance. It’s messy, passionate, complicated, and honestly? I couldn’t stop reading. The chemistry between the characters is insane. Like, from the second they meet, the tension is off the charts, and it doesn’t let up.
What I really loved about this book is that it’s not just steamy for the sake of being steamy. There’s so much emotional depth. Both main characters are dealing with heavy stuff, and their relationship reflects that. It’s not perfect, and it’s not always healthy, but it feels real. You can tell they’re trying, even when they don’t know how, and that made it way more impactful than I expected.

It’s not light or fluffy, but if you’re into emotional rollercoasters, complicated people, and stories that make you feel a little wrecked in the best way, definitely read this. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series.

Read this in a day. A fairly easy read, though I'll admit the spicier scenes are pretty cringey. I like the plotline and the character development, including the backstories given to the characters to make them less 1-dimensional in the trope. I did not read the trigger warnings and was caught off guard when reading. My fault
