Jules & Liam. Jules lost his husband a year ago and in order to help his grieving, tries talking to his late husband by texting his old number. That number happens to go to Liam - a straight man. Or is he??? A very cute love story. Sometimes the dialogue / actions of characters made them seem a bit younger and immature than their 36 years but it was cute nonetheless

A year after his husband's sudden death Jules is still grieving. His best friend encourages him to talk to James in order to finally start the healing process.
So he starts texting his husband's old number. One day, Jules receives a response...
Liam now has James' old number.
This book is a wonderful heartfelt story about starting over after a devastating loss.
The conversations between Liam and Jules are funny and honest, their accidental meeting hilarious. I just love Jules' humour. Liam learns that love does exist while Jules gets to heal. The kind of love those two have for each other will leave you speechless

♡ “Mean” Cat
♡ Good Humor
♡ Wholesome Friendships

This book dealt with grief of a spouse and trying to get out of the pit of depression, it also dealt with new feelings for an unexpected person.  From tomato jokes at the farmers market to the not so innocent use of mouthwash this book wasn’t lacking in good humor.  I also loved the friendships in this and how they were both there for each other in their own ways.  Fishstick’s was a mood, just a simple cat who hated everyone… except Liam.

The idea of this was super interesting and entertaining to read.  Julian going and texting the phone number to his dead husband to try talking to him as his best friend said… only to get a reply by the stranger who currently has the phone number—the rest is history.

This was a cute story. I really liked the characters. However, I felt like I was reading a draft and not a final copy. There were some inconsistencies, and honestly sometimes errors in language usage or punctuation made it hard to remember which character was narrating. I felt like things went incredibly fast and nonchalant. Only one discussion about Liam having me er been attracted to a man, etc. It seemed as if the author had more to say (needed to say more) but she was only allotted 220 pages so a lot had to get cut.

Why did the author put product names and other things in italics? That really got on my nerves.

When I saw the chapters told from the cat's POV, I nearly quit immediately. I'm glad I gave the book a chance, but those cat chapters were not good.
